FanDuel Announces Two Contests to Give Fantasy Football Players a Chance to Earn Bitcoin in Their Bitcoin Bowl

There is a football craze taking place in the United States as the playoffs are about to commence in the run-up that will eventually lead to the 2018 Super Bowl LII.

Everyone is excited from the potential competitors to fans, to businesses, ad makers, entertainers and others involved in making the Super Bowl a success.

Many will be glued to their television screens on a week to week basis as they see who will progress to the big game.

Some are sad, the season of fantasy football players have come to an end. Fanduel is looking to cheer these ardent fantasy football players up with a solution.

Their Solution? The Bitcoin Bowl.

It’s time game time. Are you ready?

Those who frequent the world of Fantasy Football intimately understand and know FanDuel, a platform that connects fantasy football players and the ability to generate money. FanDuel wants to provide fantasy football players with the ability to extend their gameplay throughout the playoffs and possibly win a couple of Bitcoins.

The company has announced two contests to give fans an opportunity to win Bitcoin while playing fantasy football. This is the first time a sports tech company has awarded a cryptocurrency in a consumer promotion.

The company states via twitter:

Introducing the Bitcoin Bowl!

Play fantasy football to win $BTS. That’s right, real bitcoins. Like from the news.

The CFO of the company, Andy Giancamilli, commented on the matter, noting the aspects of the innovative thinking of the company and what they hope to bring to their loyal users continually.

He stated:

“FanDuel has always sought to deliver the most unique and rewarding experiences or prizes to our users. In awarding bitcoin, we’re recognizing that most of our users are early adopters of technology and have a significant interest in cryptocurrency.”

To participate

First, make sure that it is legal to play with FanDuel in your state of residence.

Now, for the fun part.

Interested participants can join the Bitcoin Bowl in two ways. First, one can opt for initial fee entry tournament, which begins on the 6th of January. Where, if one wins, one would receive one whole Bitcoin. The other option is a multiple entry tourney that would carry a cost of three dollars per entry. In this latter option, the winning prize would be a total of two bitcoins. The player who can come in at second place will be able to win 50% of a Bitcoin. The player who comes in at third place also wins something, 25% of a Bitcoin. Not a bad return for the cost of $3 per entry, no?

At the current moment, Bitcoin will fetch a price range of $15,100.
